Marriage Requirements:

  • Candidates must be on the island 2 business days prior to wedding date
  • Canadian and American citizens: birth certificate with photo ID or valid passport
  • Notarized copies of Divorced Decree if divorced  
  • Notarized copies of Death Certificates if widowed
  • If you have never been married before, an Affidavit confirming single status.
  • Notarized translation of documents that are not written in English.
  • If under 18 years of age, notarized letter indicating parental consent given
  • No island residency is legally required  (Hotel residency requirements may differ)

Religious Weddings:

Both Anglican and Roman Catholic churches require a letter from candidates parish priest indicating knowledge of one, or both parties; also, verification of their unmarried status and that they have received the necessary pre-marital instructions. If the ceremony is to be performed by a Catholic priest, it must take place in a Catholic Church

Marriage Times:
6a.m. – 6p.m. for ceremonies presided over by a religious person.
8a.m. - 6p.m. if performed by a Magistrate.
